The key to Peck Shaffer’s success for more than 120 years has always been its people.  In addition to recruiting the best and brightest at the entry level, the firm also has welcomed many partners and associates who have had prior experience elsewhere.  Our niche public finance practice and the firm’s collegial culture provide an attractive platform for experienced public finance lawyers.  We are seeking people whose integrity and abilities align with the national reputation of the firm and whose business development acumen is strong in each or our current six locations; Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Covington, and Denver.

Because public finance lawyers are typically paid fixed fees, leverage is created not by large numbers of associates, but by experienced lawyers who are extremely efficient.  A result is that our overhead is generally much lower than our competitors’.  We help create such efficiency by providing up to date information technology and talented non-lawyer support.  Our six-person tax team, which brings a problem solving approach to tax issues, provides support for our transactional lawyers.  Because we are a boutique firm, conflicts of interest are rare.
